Solving multi-character puzzles in Order of the Sinking Star requires orchestrating the complementary powers of the North world's hauling party.

Representing The Hearty Heroes of Hauling, this fantasy company starts separated across the North territory. Initial rooms 1 to 12 serve as isolated trials introducing core traits: the red Warrior pushes crystals ahead one space, the green Thief pulls crystals along when moving away, and the purple Wizard Izzy trades places with crystals, allies, or creatures along a direct visual line.

Stages 13 through 16 bring two or three heroes together, expanding into larger ensemble puzzles across rooms 17 through 22. Solving these layouts relies on managing beige plates that drop matching yellow barriers. Because heroes cannot attack monsters directly, obstacles are dispatched by pushing crystals into foes, luring them into fire statue paths, or swapping them into harm's way.

In team configurations, characters frequently swap positions to navigate partitioned spaces. In puzzle 13, for instance, placing the Warrior on an upper plate retracts a dividing yellow barrier, letting Izzy swap through the opening to assume plate duty while the Warrior advances. Whenever multiple heroes share a puzzle, every single character must reach a personal exit pad. Parking movable crystals on pressure plates frees party members to maneuver toward goals, while unlimited instant undos allow quick recovery if objects get pinned against corners.
