NBA 2K27 Update 2.0 Refines Shooting Contests, Steal Animations, and City Features

NBA 2K27 patch 2.0 adjusts perimeter contest calculations, updates defensive steal animations, and improves squad stability in The City.
What changed
- Eliminated ghost shot contests by requiring defenders to be squarely in front of shooters.
- Steal animations now scale strictly based on player defensive ratings and stamina.
- Shorts length can now be customized for female MyPLAYERs and competitive uniforms.
- Fixed multiple free throw count bugs and reduced shooting fouls on blocked attempts.
Shooting Mechanics and Shot Contests
- Removed ghost contests where defenders who were not truly contesting still penalized shot success.
- Contests now strictly calculate defensive proximity and positioning when the ball is released.
- Open shots taken by capable shooters receive higher conversion rates while three-point percentages have been slightly balanced.
Defensive Logic and Dribble Fixes
- Defensive steal animations now strictly correspond to player defensive ratings and remaining stamina reserves.
- Computer-controlled defenders start matches with looser coverage before adapting higher intensity against hot scorers.
- Resolved an exploit where pressing down on the D-pad canceled sprints into unnatural sudden stops.
The City Stability and Customization Updates
- Uniform shorts length can now be properly adjusted for female MyPLAYERs and competitive team saves.
- Resolved squad disconnects and matchmaking stalls that occurred when transitioning between locker rooms.
- Fixed interface errors where the Shot Meter was obscured behind communication icons during online games.
