Fields of Mistria: How to Fish and Cast Your Rod

To unlock fishing and pull catches from bodies of water in Fields of Mistria, players must acquire a fishing rod.

The initial available tool is the Worn Fishing Rod, bought exclusively at the coastal Tackle Shop for 500 Tessarae. Find the shop by journeying west from your farm into Sweetwater Farm, then walking south onto the Beach where the shop stands just left of the entrance. Alternatively, players can make a Copper Fishing Rod after advancing the narrative to unlock the Mines, reaching Blacksmithing level 4, and smelting four Copper Ingots from 40 Copper Ore at the outdoor anvil at the northwest Blacksmith. The Copper Fishing Rod provides a cast range of 8, whereas the starter Worn rod reaches only 6.

With a rod in hand, find any body of water showing a fish shadow. Highlight the rod on your toolbar, then hold left-click or controller X to charge the throwing distance bar. Release the control when properly positioned. When lined up well, nearby fish will start to bite. Once hooked, press left-click or controller X a second time to reel in the prize. Some fish require upgraded rods, which can be made at the Blacksmith.
