Fields of Mistria: How to Drop Items Without Deleting Them

In Fields of Mistria, players can safely discard items on the ground from the active hotbar rather than permanently trashing them.

Dragging items toward the trash icon inside the backpack screen trashes and destroys them permanently, meaning you cannot recover them. Instead of discarding to the trash, exit the inventory screen and cycle through your toolbar until holding the target item. Press G on default keyboard setups, or pull the right trigger when using a gamepad. Your character tosses the item far enough forward that it avoids magnetic pickup. Items dropped this way persist on the ground, so you can come back with empty slots to gather them.

This throwing method works on nearly every possession in Fields of Mistria, such as museum rewards, rare bugs, and fish. The only exception occurs when inside the mines: items dropped within the mines will not be there when you return. If you worry about running out of space before mining, leave your belongings on the ground outside before going below.
